Shamal Boteju brings over 25 years of multifaceted experience spanning Finance, Manufacturing Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, Process Excellence, General Management and Business Consulting. His professional journey has taken him across diverse markets including Sri Lanka, Singapore, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and Ghana, where he has successfully led business operations and cross-cultural teams.

Throughout his career, Shamal has held several prominent leadership roles. He currently serves as Head of Business Process, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Integration at NewCold, Australia, a global leader in automated cold warehousing and logistics. Prior to this, he was Chief Operating Officer at CIC Livestock Solutions Group, CEO / Country Manager of Ceylon Biscuits Limited in Ghana and General Manager / Director at Lion Brewery (Pubs ‘N Places Pvt Ltd). He has also held senior roles with Freechoice Australia, Q Energy Australia, Goodhope Asia Holdings Singapore and Laugfs Holdings Sri Lanka. His career began at Ernst & Young Sri Lanka, where he specialized in consulting, valuations and financial due diligence.

Shamal’s academic credentials include an MBA from the University of Leicester (UK), membership in the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA – UK), Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA – Australia) and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM – UK). He has also completed Level I of the CFA Program (USA).
